This signing could be a Noah Fant insurance signing, but also another first-round pick project for John Schneider.
With Noah Fant nursing an injury, the Seattle Seahawks have signed tight end N’Keal Harry to the practice squad. It was reported that Harry, along with a few other tight ends, had worked out with Seattle last week. This signing could possibly be a bad omen that Fant may need to miss more time with the groin injury that sidelined him against the Los Angeles Rams two weeks ago. However, this signing could also just be John Schneider dusting off another failed former first round pick.
In three seasons, Harry struggled to find his footing and was eventually traded to the Chicago Bears in 2022 for only a 7th round draft pick. After an underwhelming and injury-riddled year in Chicago, Harry signed with the Minnesota Vikings on a reserve/future contract. It was in Minnesota that Harry transitioned from wide receiver to tight end. This transition, though difficult, made a lot of sense considering Harry stands at 6’3”, 225 pounds.
