The Seattle Seahawks are facing a crisis in their secondary as injuries continue to plague the team. Starting safety Rayshawn Jenkins was placed on injured reserve with a hand injury, joining cornerback Artie Burns who also landed on IR due to a reaggravated toe injury.
Just as the Seattle Seahawks are getting healthier along the defensive line, the injuries are taking a toll in the secondary. Seattle placed starting safety Rayshawn Jenkins on injured reserve due to a hand injury. Jenkins is required to miss at least four games before he’s eligible to return, which means he won’t be back until at least Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals.
With a vacant spot on the active roster, the Seahawks signed preseason standout Ty Okada via the practice squad. To fill Okada’s practice squad vacancy, Seattle added former Tennessee Titans cornerback Eric Garror. It’s worth noting that Garror also returned punts last season for the Titans. There’s no way around it: Seattle’s secondary is in bad shape right now.
