Seattle Seahawks rookie defensive tackle Byron Murphy is expected to miss some time with a hamstring injury sustained last Sunday. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the injury timeline might not be too long, but the team will exercise caution with their first-round pick.
Bad news for the Seattle Seahawks defensive line . Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that Seahawks ’ rookie defensive tackle, Byron Murphy “is expected to miss some time” with his recent hamstring injury. Fowler went on to state that this time period “might not be too long, but Seattle will be cautious with its first-round pick.” Murphy went down with the injury last Sunday in the victory over the Miami Dolphins.
In the worst case scenario, not having Murphy would not be ideal for the now NFC West-leading Seahawks. Three games into his very young NFL career, Murphy has six tackles, six quarterback hurries, and 0.5 sacks. However, his presence on the field is felt far more than just with the stat line. Murphy frequently eats up space, takes on double teams, and opens up opportunities for his teammates to make plays.
