Seattle’s pass rush just took a hit in the win over the Arizona Cardinals.
The Seattle Seahawks didn’t have too many injuries of note against the Arizona Cardinals, but the most notable one is a biggie. Outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu left Sunday’s game early in the 2nd quarter with a pectoral injury and did not return. Pete Carroll has since confirmed that it’s a strained pec, and while they await further test results, it sounds like Pete believes Nwosu may be out for at least this week.
In addition to what he provides as a pass rusher, Nwosu’s value in the run defense is also huge, so this is a real double whammy if he has to miss any time. Boye Mafe has already been one of the best performing players on Seattle’s pass rush, but it looks as if rookie Derick Hall and Darrell Taylor will need to up their game in Nwosu’s absence.
