The Seahawks cornerback did not play the opening series against Minnesota.
After a rough game against the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks cornerback Riq Woolen was conspicuously absent from the opening drive of the team’s 27-24 home loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Tre Brown, Josh Jobe, and Devon Witherspoon were the corners on the field for what was an eventual touchdown for the Vikings. Woolen assumed his usual snaps following that benching.
Macdonald later said he thought Woolen played a good game. Woolen was involved on the winning touchdown to Justin Jefferson. It was a Cover 2 look and Julian Love didn’t get over the top in time to knock the ball away from one of the best receivers in the sport. It’s still not great that this is the second year in a row that Woolen has been benched in some capacity deep into the season for some sort of problem either on the field or off of it.
