Velus Jones was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, though he failed to live up to the expectations of a Day 2 pick during his time in the Windy City. A speedster who clocked in at 4.31 seconds in the forty yard dash at the 2019 NFL Combine, Jones has caught just 12 passes for 135 yards, while recording 20 rushing attempts for 165 yards. His biggest on field contribution has come on special teams, where he returned 38 kickoffs while averaging 26.7 yards per return during his two plus seasons in Chicago, where Seahawks quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko happened to be coaching at the time. In addition to Chicago, Jones has spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints during his career.
