The Seattle Seahawks made a roster move, adding John Rhys Plumlee to the active roster from the practice squad while placing tight end Brady Russell on injured reserve.
The Seattle Seahawks have made (potentially) their final regular season roster transaction of the 2024 season. Undrafted rookie John Rhys Plumlee has been added to the active roster via the practice squad . Tight end Brady Russell , who’s missed several games with a foot injury, has been placed on injured reserve. The twist with Plumlee is the fact that he was signed to the practice squad prior to the first Arizona Cardinals game, but he was officially listed as a quarterback.
Other than emulating Kyler Murray in practice, Plumlee has been working with Seattle as a wide receiver and is now listed as such. Plumlee, who had a pre-draft visit with the Seahawks, began his college football career at Ole Miss before transferring to the University of Central Florida for his final two seasons. His great mobility resulted in for over 2,500 rushing yards on 453 attempts. Plumlee does have prior wide receiver experience in college, including 19 catches for 201 yards in his junior season at Ole Miss. In his brief time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Plumlee was used as a quarterback, receiver and kick returner throughout training camp and preseason. Perhaps an intriguing name to keep an eye on heading into next season
