Great size and good speed with decent hands make for a solid 3rd option in the passing game.We need a second running back since Rashaad Penny signed with Philly, and maybe even if he didn't leave. Abanikanda was my target here from the beginning. Ideal size. Amazing athlete. He doesn't have great vision, which is why he isn't going to go that early, but what he does see he makes the most of.
Sorry, I was just talking about Tariq Woolen last year. Hey Darius Rush, what're you doing here? Seriously though, Rush does have some injury concerns, which is why he could easily last into this range, and he's also on the older side for a rookie, but I'm not particularly concerned about that.Overshown is a really interesting prospect.
Making the playoffs may have been one of the best things that could have happened to the 2022 draft class. They know what success feels like now, and they're in a position to help this incoming class really learn what it means to play professional football.
That's all in an ideal scenario, of course, but you don't exactly draft a guy thinking"yeah, he's probably going to suck". I like how this turned out. I focused on the trenches.
One thing that I am glad I was able to do is make sure that every pick is above average athletically. The lowest player I took in that regard was Overshown, who is exceptional in his speed, but struggles with quickness, and the second lowest was Wypler, who I'm drafting for scheme fit and not because of athleticism, so I'm okay with him not being an absolutely crazy athlete. Other than them everyone had a Relative Athletic Score of 9 or more, and usually much more.
