Funding to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme has increased by R28 billion since the original Fees Must Fall protests, but we are still seeing student protests eight years on. Since the original #FeesMustFall protests, the direct subsidy of higher education students through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme has increased from R10 billion to R38 billion.
