San Diego FC’s star forward was named to Major League Soccer’s Best XI for the 2025 season, one day after being named MLS’ Newcomer of the Year. The team, announced Wednesday, also includes forwards Denis Bouanga and Lionel Messi ; midfielders Sebastian Berhalter , Evander and Cristian Roldan ; defenders Tristan Blackmon , Alex Freeman , Jakob Glesnes and Kai Wagner ; and goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair . St. Clair was named Goalkeeper of the Year, Blackmon was Defender of the Year and Freeman was named Young Player of the Year. Dreyer, a native of Denmark, has been the breakout star for San Diego FC during its historic inaugural season. Dreyer finished the regular season with 19 goals and 19 assists; his 38 total goal contributions are tied for the most in MLS history by a first-year player.
