Phillip Kennedy Johnson: It's great, thanks. It's been really busy. My last San Diego was in the before times [before the COVID-19 pandemic], and my whole job as a writer has changed a lot since then, so this has been much busier, but in a really great way, because you get to see a lot of friends I haven't seen in a long time and makes some new ones. It's been really good.
Phillip Kennedy Johnson: That is a really excellent question. Let's see. You want to give them human elements that, or I want to anyway, I want to give them human elements that make us invested in the character. We do that through detail. And not just because he's not a native English speaker. That was part of it. When we were debating who to use, "Are we going to bring literally everybody home? What about Kenan?" That was the question that I had for my editor. I was like, "He doesn't speak English." And like, "Yeah, but everyone else speaks Chinese." I'm like, "That's not true.

What do you think sets this group of characters apart from the Bat-Family? So can you talk about the genesis point of reuniting, or not necessarily reuniting, but bringing all these characters together, really bonding the Superman family together, making them a more cohesive unit than they've been? Was there an initial spark of that idea?
