Sid crying on the phone in Scream 7
Scream 7's Ghostface killers have a high kill count, and some deaths were truly brutal. After overcoming various behind-the-scenes obstacles, Scream 7 was finally released on February 27, 2026. Directed by franchise creator Kevin Williamson, Scream 7 has Sidney Prescott back after her absence in the previous movie.
Scream 7 takes viewers to Pine Grove, where a new Ghostface killer appears and goes after Sidney, her husband Mark , and their teenage daughter Tatum . Scream 7 has many brutal deaths, with the Ghostface killers going above and beyond with some of them in terms of cruelty. 10 Marco Like most movies in the Scream saga , Scream 7 has more than one killer – in fact, it repeated Scream 6's trick and had three killers, but with a twist . One of them was Marco , an employee at a mental institution in town. Marco isn’t around for long, only shown during Sidney and Gale’s visit to the mental institution as they investigate one escaped patient, and in the final act of Scream 7 when he’s revealed as one of the killers. Marco has a quick and underwhelming death compared to others in the movie and franchise, and he’s simply shot to death by Sidney. 9 Scott The opening kill in Scream 7 is unrelated to Sidney and her family, but it does have a connection to the franchise. Set at the Macher house, which is now an attraction for fans of the Stab movies and the Woodsboro murders, the opening kill of Scream 7 stars Stab superfan Scott and his girlfriend Madison . Scott and Madison are surprised by a real Ghostface killer hiding in the house, who stabs Scott to death while Madison runs for her life. The Ghostface killer behind this death is most likely Jessica , though it could have been teamwork at the Macher house. 8 Aaron Aaron isn’t part of Tatum’s friend circle, but he’s one of the first Ghostface victims after the opening. Tatum and her friends are rehearsing a play at their school, when her friend, Hannah , stays on stage to continue rehearsing. Accompanying her is Aaron, who is backstage. Before Hannah is brutally killed, Ghostface slices Aaron’s throat, taking control of the flying harness Hannah is using. It’s not a shocking death, but Aaron was a background character who did no harm, yet he was killed by Ghostface. 7 Ben Ben is Tatum’s boyfriend, and given the track record of Ghostface killings, he becomes a prime suspect. Tatum becomes suspicious of him when she finds his laptop with a deepfake test. However, Ben was simply testing this technology to prove how easy or difficult it would be for anyone to pose as Stu Macher . After being punched by Tatum, Ben follows her, and they cross paths on the streets, but Ghostface takes them by surprise. Ben is killed by being repeatedly stabbed, and Tatum is forced to leave him so she can hide. While other characters are also stabbed, this one is especially brutal as it happens right in front of Tatum, and after they had just reconciled. 6 Karl Sidney has her own coffee shop in Pine Grove, and at the beginning of Scream 7, she gives his order to a man named Karl , who stares at her in a disturbing way. Later on in the movie, Ghostface attacks Sidney, Tatum, and Mark, but they all fight back. Ghostface ends up being fatally run over by Gale , and so he’s unmasked. The first Ghostface killer is revealed to be Karl, who is later explained to be a murderer who escaped from the mental institution where Marco works. Marco arranged Karl’s escape so that he would help him and Jessica with their planned murders. 5 Chloe Scream 7 is especially tragic as none of Tatum’s friends survive. Among the victims is Chloe , one of Tatum’s best friends. Tatum, Ben, their friends, Chad , and Mindy meet at a bar owned by Chloe’s parents, where they hope to be safe – of course, they aren’t. Chloe fights for her life in the bar’s kitchen, but just as viewers are led to believe she has successfully outsmarted Ghostface, the killer strikes again. Celeste is thrown through a stack of glasses, with one piece of glass stabbing her in the throat, killing her almost instantly. 4 Hannah Hannah doesn’t have much screen time in Scream 7 because she’s one of the first kills after the opening, but her death made quite an impact due to its brutality. As mentioned above, Hannah is rehearsing the school play while wearing a flying harness, which Ghostface uses to mess with her and psychologically torture her. While she flies all over the stage, Ghostface effortlessly stabs her in the stomach, cutting her abdomen open and tearing out her intestines, this after repeatedly slamming her into a wall. It’s a brutal, graphic, and cruel death for a character the audience couldn’t even get to know properly. 3 Lucas Lucas is another suspect as he shows his fascination for Sidney and the Woodsboro murders early on in Scream 7. Unfortunately for Lucas, his obsession becomes his reality when he’s killed by Ghostface in what’s now one of the most brutal and graphic deaths in the entire Scream movie series. After being stabbed, and because he’s still alive, Ghostface takes Lucas and slams his head down onto a pointed beer pump, with beer coming out through his mouth. Not only is this a brutal death, but it’s even worse after Jessica admits to having killed her own son because he was too much like his abusive father. 2 Jessica Jessica is the other Ghostface killer and the real mastermind, and the one who is actually obsessed with Sidney and her story. Jessica got the wrong message from Sidney’s story and memoir, and she admits to killing her abusive husband. Sidney’s decision to live a private life and not be present during Scream 6 disappointed Jessica, who then came up with the whole murder spree plan. Jessica turns out to be very hard to kill after being repeatedly stabbed and even shot, but if the Scream franchise has made something very clear, it’s that the villain always has to be shot in the head. That’s exactly what Sidney and Tatum do, leaving Jessica completely disfigured after repeatedly shooting her in the face. 1 Madison Scream 7’s opening kill has the bottom spot on this list and the top one at the same time. While there’s nothing out of the ordinary in Scott’s death, Madison’s is especially cruel and shocking. Madison fights for her life and does everything she can to save herself, but she ends up falling after hanging from a chandelier and lands directly on Ghostface’s knife. Because that’s not enough for the Ghostface killer who murders Madison, they cover her in gasoline along with the rest of the house and set a still-alive Madison and the house on fire. 5.6/10 Scream 7 10 stars 9 stars 8 stars 7 stars 6 stars 5 stars 4 stars 3 stars 2 stars 1 star Like Follow Followed R Horror Mystery Release Date February 27, 2026 Runtime 114 Minutes Director Kevin Williamson Writers Kevin Williamson, Guy Busick, James Vanderbilt Producers William Sherak, Paul Neinstein Cast See All
