The cats were taken to one of the charity’s animal rescue and rehoming centres by a member of the public after they were discovered in their cat carrier.
The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after two cats were found abandoned beside a slip road on the M74.
An assistant manager at the centre said: “These cats were found in their blue and white cat carrier beside a slip road coming from Clydeside on the busy M74.
