Scottie Scheffler revealed some adjustments to his game heading into the Masters Tournament, and playing the Houston Open is the perfect place to do so.

Scottie Scheffler's presence in the field at the Houston Open has fans buzzing with anticipation. It is the World No. 1's last start before defending his Masters title, and everyone wants to know firsthand if he is fit enough to wear a new Green Jacket.

According to Scheffler himself, at this stage of his preparation he is just making some adjustments to his game. The 27-year-old spoke on the subject during his pre-tournament press conference.'Just kind of dialing things in, still working on numbers, stuff like that. Yeah, I would say dialing things in would be a pretty good assessment,' Scheffler said.'I mean, I feel like where I'm at in my game right now...I would say dialing things in is how I'd describe it. I feel like I'm getting a little bit sharper and I feel like I'm improving a little bit.'Scheffler also talked about his hand injury. On the topic, he calmed fans about the impact that a late start to the season due to injury might have had on his game.'I feel like I'm fully in the swing of things, yeah. I don't really think about missing any part of the season anymore, everything feels normal. I feel like I'm definitely in the swing of a normal year now.'Another topic the Ridgewood, New Jersey native discussed was his preparation for the Masters Tournament. He mentioned how playing at Memorial Park Golf Course helps him.'Yeah, I think with it being rye grass in the fairways now I think definitely improves the prep for the Masters, it's a similar grass to what we see at Augusta.''It's also a big golf course, you've got to hit it far out here, so there is definitely some similarities and good preparation between here and Augusta. Also like having the week off between here and Augusta.'Scottie Scheffler injured his hand on Christmas Day 2024, so he started the 2025 season in February. Since then, he has played in five tournaments and finished in the top 25 in all of them. That includes two top-10s, with a third-place finish at the Genesis Invitational as his best result. Not exactly a slow start to the season, but fans can't help but compare it to last year. At this point in 2024, the two-time Masters champion had two wins and four other top 10s in seven tournaments. The 2025 edition will be Scheffler's sixth appearance in the Houston Open. He has made the cut in all five of his previous appearances, with three top-10s, including two runner-up finishes, as his best finishes.More Golf: Rory McIlroy's Fatal Fate at The Open Pointed Out by Sole Survivor
