The start of the second round was delayed after a shuttle bus struck and killed a pedestrian outside Valhalla Golf Club, a spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police Department confirmed to ESPN. The police officer attempted to attach himself to Scheffler's car, and Scheffler then stopped his vehicle at the entrance to Valhalla. The police officer then began to scream at Scheffler to get out of the car. When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs.

The unidentified man was attempting to cross Shelbyville Road, outside the gate to the club, around 5 a.m. Friday when he was struck by a bus in a lane that was dedicated for buses. Police said the man died at the scene.PGA of America officials said tee times for the second round would be delayed and another update would be made at 7 a.m. ET.
