Prime Minister Scott Morrison banned outspoken Liberal MP Craig Kelly from appearing on the ABC's flagshipprogram last month in an attempt to moderate public perceptions of the government on climate change.

The Prime Minister has attempted to take politics off the front page following the election, asking ministers to rethink media appearances unless they had something specific to say, and frustrating press gallery journalists with a lack of regular "drops" or announcements.
