Man United manager Erik ten Hag has suffered a difficult campaign but the performances of one of his players has kept him in a job
Scotland's national team coach John Carver believes that Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, should be thankful to Scott McTominay for helping him keep his job.
When asked if McTominay's performance for Scotland has influenced his play at Old Trafford, Carver, the assistant coach of Scotland, said: "Very much so." McTominay, who won the title of EE Scotland Player of the Year 2023, is a favourite for Clarke both on and off the field. Carver pointed out: "You look at some of the players we have in our team who have had unbelievable seasons.
"He is an example of a player who has gone away to his club, worked extremely hard and he can fit into the system we want to play. I think he can get better. McTominay walked into the Scotland camp with confidence after Sunday's big game against Liverpool. Coach Carver added: "He's a great lad and your typical Man United player. He's got the personality to play for Man United, that's why you're there.
