A man who stabbed his heavily pregnant girlfriend in the neck and caused her to lose their unborn twins has had his jail term extended.
Fiscal depute Andrew Harding told the court: "Prison officers carried out a cell search. They found a prison issue mobile phone with an illicit sim card." Ramsay was made subject to an Order for Lifelong Restriction at Aberdeen High Court, meaning he will only ever be freed if considered no longer a danger to the public.
She was "almost unrecognisable" because of bruising and swelling to her face and blood was spurting from her neck each time she tried to breathe. Prosecutor Derick Nelson said: "At this stage of gestation it is rare to have a stillbirth. There was nothing other than the assault to suggest why these babies died."
