Since his death, Tobin’s personal items from his cell at HMP Edinburgh, which the Sunday Mail understands includes his favourite books, have gone unclaimed.
Nobody has come forward to claim the belongings of Scotland’s worst serial killer - a year after his death.
Prison officials have asked prosecutors for a further two year extension to hold his belongings in case someone related to Tobin wants them.A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson said: “Property belonging to an individual no longer in our care will initially be held for 12 months. Prior to his death, police had looked at hundreds of unsolved murders to see if they were also linked to the killer and tried again to persuade him to co-operate as he lay dying.
