BREAKING: Scotland's death toll rises to 22 after six more people die from coronavirus
Six more people have died fromThe Scottish First Minister stated that there are also 51 patients currently being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care. The number of confirmed cases of the virus is still being verified, she added during the nation’s daily update on the pandemic.
Sturgeon continued: ‘It is clear that we are now seeing a rapid rise in coronavirus cases in Scotland.’ She went on to urge the public to continue staying at home unless they had essential reasons to travel. As of Tuesday, the confirmed number of deaths in the UK is 424, which is expected to rise again later today. There have been 8,077 cases of Covid-19 across the UK.Sturgeon praised key workers for finding ways for their children to be looked after while schools are closed, stating that only 1% of people had taken the Scottish government up on their childcare offer.
