Monday's win marked Cleveland’s third straight victory and its first time winning back-to-back road games since early November 👏
Prior to tipoff Monday night, Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff spoke about his young team learning harsh lessons throughout the season, especially away from Cleveland. His belief: The team is now better because of it.Despite playing about 24 hours after a double-digit win in Indianapolis, the Cavs brought the right focus, intensity and attention to detail from the jump, something that has been problematic at times.
Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland led a share-the-wealth attack. They each had 23 points. Eastern Conference All-Star starter Donovan Mitchell -- playing in front of his mom and sister, Jordan, a lacrosse player at nearby American University -- chipped in with 21 points on 8 of 16 from the field and 3 of 9 from 3-point range.
“It’s time served, work put in and confidence,” Bickerstaff said of Okoro. “It’s not just confidence in himself. His teammates believe in him and watch how hard he works and all the things he does. They appreciate and respect all the little things he does that don’t go on the stat sheet or people don’t pay attention to. They know how important it is to helping us win. You’re seeing him grow in confidence and belief. He just wants to do more to help the team.
