Brisbane City Council will debate whether to secure the land required for a pedestrian, cycle and scooter bridge connecting Toowong and West End.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner on Wednesday said the council would next week consider applying to the state government to resume 2217 square metres of the former ABC site at Toowong.Schrinner has long had plans for more bridges over the Brisbane River.
But with developers moving on the former ABC site, and Infrastructure Australia recognising the importance of a link between Toowong and West End, Schrinner argued it was time to safeguard the land for Brisbane’s future.
