Grey College thumped Welkom Gymnasium, as Selborne College edged Marlow Agricultural in East London on a thrilling weekend of schools rugby across the country.
In Welkom, Grey scored 11 tries in a 71-21 hammering of their hosts on Saturday. Meanwhile, Marlow led 18-3 in the first half before Selbourne rallied after the break to seize the lead 20-18, but the home side clawed back to claim a hard-fought 23-20 victory.
Elsewhere, Monument kicked off the season with a 24-0 win over Hoërskool Trio, while Affies and Boland Landbou were victorious against Diamentveld and Drostdy respectively.Welkom Gim 21-71 Grey College
