UNION leaders last night refused to back down in their opposition to schools reopening next month despite official advice suggesting teachers are no more at risk from coronavirus than any other profession.
A document presented to Cabinet minister by Government scientific advice released yesterday said the “balance of evidence” pointed towards children being less likely to carry the virus than adults. But the briefing from the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies acknowledged that the evidence on the issue was “inconclusive”.
