Staff, pupils, and their families came together to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) association in honour of Rob Burrow and his sterling efforts to raise awareness of MND
community before being added together at the end of the week. Despite intending to run and walk seven marathons in seven days, the Allerton Bywater Primary School community managed to hugely exceed that target, managing a combined total of nearly 950 miles - the equivalent of nearly 37 marathons.
MND is an uncommon condition that affects the brain and nerves. It causes weakness that gets worse over time. Erin, 6, a pupil at Allerton Bywater Primary School, said: “I liked it - it’s important to stay healthy and nice to do stuff for charity.”
