The Duval County School Board will select semifinalists Tuesday from a list of 20 applicants for the superintendent position of Duval County Public Schools.
Local News– about half of those met the minimum qualifications the board wanted to see
Three people who initially applied in the fall have applied again: Dr. Corwin Robinson, Adam Taylor, and Dr. Cheryl Proctor. Another applicant, Dr. Sito Narcisse, applied during the district’s last superintendent search in 2018, andOf the 20 candidates still being considered, nearly all have some sort of education-related background, but not all of the candidates meet the board’s minimum requirement of 10 years of education leadership experience.
The district’s minimum qualifications for the job include leadership at the district/cabinet level in a district approaching 25,000 students or more, or current or past experience as a school superintendent. The school board is scheduled to identify semifinalists and questions for the semifinalists at Tuesday’s board meeting.
