A 22-year-old New Braunfels woman died in a car accident early Saturday, according to Schertz police.

The woman has been identified as Lauren Carreon, 22, of New Braunfels. She was a passenger in a silver Chrysler 200 that was traveling on Interstate 35. Officers responded about 2 a.m. to a report of a crash in the 22250 block of I-35 North. The driver of the Chrysler lost control, hitting highway barriers multiple times and then colliding with a silver Toyota Tundra heading north on I-35, according to police.The driver of the Chrysler, a 24-year-old San Antonio man, and the driver of the Toyota, a 36-year-old New Braunfels man, were seriously injured. Both were taken to Brooke Army Medical Center.
