A spokesperson for the Walt Disney Company described the lawsuit as having “no merit whatsoever," blasting it as"especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic." And all the while, Johansson dutifully hyped the movie without knowing that Disney was going to short-change her at the box office, according to Berlinski.
