A new report from The Wall Street Journal has the White House on its heels Wednesday.
President Joe Biden delivers remarks on the verdict in former President Donald Trump's hush money trial and on the Middle East, from the State Dining Room of the White House, Friday, May 31, 2024, in Washington. outside of the White House say there’s a problem with the piece: It relied heavily on Biden’s loudest foes in the GOP and, possibly worse, some who have even said in private that Biden is “mentally sharp.
I have repeatedly stated on air that I am an avid reader and cheerleader for the WSJ. That is what makes this false, biased story so disappointing. It is undermined immediately by the massive weight on on-the-record contradictions.“‘McCarthy mocked Biden’s age and mental acuity in public, while privately telling allies that he found the president sharp and substantive in their conversations — a contradiction that left a deep impression on the White House.’ ~Politico, 10/4/23.
Scarborough took aim at McCarthy because the ousted speaker was the first official quoted in the story. Scarborough cried foul, including on other officials they quoted, like current House Speaker Mike Johnson.
