Police in York County are warning locals of a scam where suspects are reportedly posing in the mail as the "Prevent Cancer Foundation." Police said the scam involves suspects using checks for several thousands of dollars dispersed by priority and certified mail with a letter asking call a number after depositing, that will instruct victims how to redisperse the funds back to the suspects.
York police said this scam has also been reported in other parts of the country, aiming to prey on people's generosity during the holiday season.
