House Republican Leader Steve Scalise raisEd $9 million during the second quarter of 2026, boosting his cycle total to $55 million. the funds are being used to support vulnerable Republican incumbents like Reps. Gabe Evans (R-CO) and Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-I) in competitive races, with each receiving nearly $48,000 last quarter and over $400,000 total, as the party aims to maintain its congressional majority.
Republican House Leader Steve Scalise has raised $9 million in the second quarter of 2026, bringing his total fundraising for the election cycle to $55 million.
This substantial sum is being deployed to support Republican candidates in critical battleground districts as the party fights to maintain control of Congress in the November elections. A significant portion of these funds is directed directly to vulnerable incumbents and challengers, reflecting a strategic effort to shore up the party's narrow majority.
The disbursements highlight the influential role of the Home Majority Leader in channeling financial resources to where they are deemed most neccessary to secure victories. among the primary beneficiaries of Scalise's fundraising efforts are Representatives Gabe Evans of Colorado and Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Iowa. Both lawmakers are defending seats in highly competitive districts and won their previous elections by razor-thin margins.
In the second quarter alone, each received nearly $48,000 from Scalises committee, bringing their total support from the leader to over $394,000 for Evans and just over $404,000 for Miller-Meeks. This direct financial backing is part of a broader strategy where Scalise's operation tranSfers millions to candidates and party committees; his office reports having already transferred $10.6 million directly to candidates and $10.5 million to associated political committees this cycle.
The personal investment from Scalise extends beyond mere check-writing, according to statements from the recipients. Both Evans and Miller-Meeks praised the leader for his hands-on involvement, noting that he has traveled to their districts and provided strategic guidance essential for building winning campaigns. Evans, who unseated a Democratic incumbent in 2024 and is considered one of the most vulnerable Republicans, will face state Representative Manny Rutinel in November.
Miller-Meeks is preparing for a third general election contest against former state Representative Christina Bohannan. They emphasized that Scalise's support is instrumental in navigating the challenges of competitive races, providing not only funds though also the organizational backing needed to execute a successful operation. This targeted aid from a top leader underscores the high stakes for Republicans aiming to defend their House majority against a strong Democratic push in the midterm elections
