During the play, he processes quickly and works through his progressions decisively, from the front side to the backside of the play, consistently finding open receivers. In clean pockets, Robertson shows excellent footwork, smooth throwing mechanics, and a quick release. Robertson is accurate at all levels of the field, from short slants and intermediate throws over the middle to deep passes. His arm talent includes the ability to vary ball speed and trajectory to fit passes into tight windows. He also understands ball placement, executing back-shoulder throws or placing the ball away from defenders in red-zone situations. While primarily a pocket passer, Robertson’s athleticism allows him to extend plays when necessary. He can escape pressure, keep his eyes downfield, and deliver throws or tuck the ball and gain yardage with his legs. Most often, he scrambles with awareness, maintaining focus on finding an open receiver rather than simply running. Robertson’s main area of concern is his arm strength. On deeper throws, his velocity tends to fade, which can limit his ability to consistently drive the ball into tight windows. This also affects his deep-ball accuracy, requiring him to occasionally settle for just getting the ball downfield rather than delivering a precise pass.
