Savvy mum-of-four transforms old-fashioned kitchen into stunning space for just £120 instead of £10,000
Kitchen renovations typically cost thousands of pounds and take months of work. But one mum has revealed how she saved £10,000 on her epic kitchen transformation.
Lauren used the Frenchic Al Fresco paint, which she said required very little prep work - just sugar soap and a light sand. They then used a heat gun to strip the vinyl from the top cupboards, but weren't happy with the results. "We used one 750ml tin to do the whole kitchen. We used Wilko tile paint on the tiles. I'd say out of everything this was the worst job.
"We also kept the original worktop to save on cost. We sanded these down and did around three coats of Danish oil," she added. "We actually found the shelves in our garage holding up wood we store for the winter to fuel our log burner.
