The “Today” host and her siblings reported their 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, missing at the end of January and the search continues to find her amid the belief she was kidnapped. "Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony. We are in agony. It is unbearable,” Guthrie told Hoda Kotb through tears. "And to think of what she went through. I wake up every night in the middle of the night, every night. And in the darkness, I imagine her terror. And it is unthinkable, but those thoughts demand to be thought. And I will not hide my face. But she needs to come home now." The FBI is now offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie's recovery and an arrest in the case. She is "Today Show" co-host Savannah Guthrie's mother. Nancy Guthrie has been missing and presumed kidnapped since Sunday. Kotb, who has returned to “Today” as a temporary replacement for Guthrie, praised her fellow host. "There is a desperation and also a steeliness about Savannah,” she said. "I mean, she's hoping that somebody, whoever this person is, will see something and say something. And as you'll see in the coming days, she talks about so many things. She talks about the investigation, she talks about her faith, and she talks about how she's getting through.” Savannah Guthrie arrives at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, Calif. She noted that Guthrie spoke about how "God's holding her hand" and admitted she couldn't help but "marvel" at the way she was able to "sit there with an outfit on, have a conversation, and also have just, direct thoughts about what she sees going forward." The Pima County Sheriff's Department launched an urgent search for Nancy after she failed to show up for a church service on February 1, 2026. Investigators believe she was kidnapped overnight and have obtained surveillance footage of a masked man at her door. Sheriff Chris Nanos previously told, "We believe we know why did this and we believe that it was targeted, but we’re not 100% sure of that. I think day one, we had some strong beliefs about what happened, and those beliefs haven’t diminished.” In this image provided by NBCUniversal, Savannah Guthrie, right, her mom Nancy speak, Wednesday, April 17, 2019, in New York.
