The Rolling Stones frontman and his partner, choreographer and former ballerina Melanie Hamrick, sold the waterfront home for $3.25 million at the tail end of August, listing records show. “You can’t always get what you want… but this house is definitely what you need,” read the listing with Christine Spelman with Re/Max Alliance Group in a nod to one of the band’s most famous songs.
Spanning upward of 5,700 square feet, the four-bedroom property is within the Lake Club—a “premier gated community” roughly 30 minutes from downtown Sarasota—and was built with “privacy in mind,” the listing said. It’s fitted with high ceilings, crown molding and coffered ceilings, and boasts a great room, a media room with a wet bar, a study, a den, three balconies, a screened lanai and its own bell tower. The custom chef’s kitchen has two walk-in pantries and a cappuccino machine, while the primary bedroom suite has a balcony with a fireplace, a walk-in closet and private staircase access.The couple, who have been together since 2014, spent more than $400,000 remodeling the home during their ownership, including cosmetic changes, extensive landscaping and the addition of security cameras and gates, according to the listing. Jagger, 80, reportedly bought the home as a Christmas gift for Hamrick, though records with PropertyShark show the home was snapped up in October 2020 for $1.98 million with Hamrick, 36, listed as the sole owner. The couple enjoyed Florida and the Lake Club but with homes around the world, they weren’t spending much time there, according to a news release.The buyer, who Mansion Global couldn’t identify, loved “the rare privacy that was created by Jagger [and] Hamrick and are thrilled to be taking over this now infamous home” Spelman said in the release.
