Warning: Spoilers Ahead for the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #34 Preview! After a thrilling conclusion to the latest chaotic arc, Naruto's sequel series is teasing some heartbreaking developments for one of its biggest characters.
Sasuke Uchiha has done well in helping nurture the new generation of shinobi in ways only he could, but his greatest natural successor just encountered a massive roadblock on her route to greater heights. Sarada Uchiha, daughter to Sasuke and Sakura, has demonstrated enormous growth in embracing her Mangekyo Sharingan powers over the past year in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
However, in the preview for chapter #34, the natural drawbacks every Uchiha must face in her circumstances have come threatening to strip her of the incredible power-up she finally embraced in the Land of Wind. As her overreliance on the Mangekyo Sharingan's incredible powers exacts its toll, Sarada will undoubtedly grapple with the consequences and what can be done.
It could even set up a similar passing of the torch like Itachi once did for Sasuke, albeit in likely far less tragic fashion. Naruto's Sequel Nerfs Sasuke's Successor In One Major Way Shown undergoing observation, Sarada has it confirmed for her that she is slowly going blind from overuse of the Mangekyo Sharingan. Surrounded by Sumire Kakei and ChoCho Akamichi, Sarada is told by Sakura that even changing prescriptions isn't enough to offset the heavy vision loss.
One panel notably shows blurred vision that doesn't seem to even be able to properly track motion. She reminds Sarada that this was always a risk of using the ability, given Sasuke once had to face this possibility. She goes on further to say that it can depend on the nature of the technique just as much as how often it's used, but Sarada will eventually go completely blind.

Sarada's Ohirume ability was simply too powerful not to have the same drawback of the Mangekyo Sharingan, and her next step will invariably need to be obtaining the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan to prevent her blindness.
However, with the Uchiha clan's limited pool of solutions for this problem, Sarada will likely have to do something drastic to restore her vision before it's too late. While Sasuke has one remaining good Sharingan Eye as a worthy transplant option for Sarada, this would inevitably have tragic implications for Sasuke's future in the Naruto franchise. But one other solution could still be hidden away.
Sarada May Find Her Sharingan Fix By Bringing An Iconic Itachi Moment Full Circle While removing Sasuke's one remaining eye to give to Sarada would hypothetically restore vision to at least one Sharingan, it's far from an ideal solution that would obviously leave Sasuke blind. It'd be a tragic twist and an imperfect parallel to Itachi's final living moments, barring their reunion in the Fourth Great Ninja War, but one alternative would keep Sasuke in the game.

This, of course, would likely only come after defeating Hidari and bringing Sasuke back, but one crucial element that's easily forgotten is a set of eyes left unaccounted for: Sasuke's first Sharingan Eyes, when he took Itachi's after their fateful final battle. Such a transplant would save Sarada's vision, and keep Sasuke from having to make a massive sacrifice.
Given Itachi was at the point of near-blindness and even his eyes awakened Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan in Sasuke, the same could work for Sarada. ↻ RETRY MISSION Obviously, such a procedure would need both the confirmation of Sasuke's eyes, following him swapping them out for Itachi's, to be kept somewhere safe, especially after the destruction of Obito Uchiha's base where they were supposedly kept. There's been no indication of these eyes ever being found or preserved, or who would be most trustworthy in making sure they don't fall into the wrong hands.
Realistically, watching over such a ghoulish relic such as for research would be a perfect excuse to bring Orochimaru or Kabuto back, but given this latest preview, it's clear Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is having Sarada face the same challenges her father once did in Naruto.
