Staff have proposed a vision statement calling for a vibrant downtown that is inclusive for all people and which “supports a strong economy, creates a sense of community, and attracts people to live, work and play in the Downtown.” City technical director Dan Willems further clarified that the proposed downtown district can be divided into a “core” public plaza area around the arena and convention site, and then a wider area encompassing a broad section of the northwest downtown core running from Second Avenue to just past Idylwyld Drive.
