A design by Gabrielle Giroux, a Dene woman from Hatchet Lake First Nation in Saskatchewan and owner of Encore Graphics in Saskatoon, is featured on a limited-edition 2022 holiday box from Purolator, part of the company’s Tackle Hunger program. The annual promotion showcases artists from provinces and territories across Canada, with the company donating to local charities.include hunting caribou, fishing, making dry meat and the sharing of harvests, Giroux added.
The 36 food banks in Saskatchewan offer support for around 40,000 people each month, and all are seeing an increase in visitors.
