Businesses and non-profit organizations regularly open and move in Saskatoon. Today the StarPhoenix talks to Vicky Allen and Shayna Ponak of Bailey Nelson, who opened their first outlet in Saskatchewan at Midtown Plaza late last year.Allen, the marketing and e-commerce director, and Ponak, the marketing operations manager, are excited to see Bailey Nelson expanding into new markets after being founded in Australia in 2012 by Nick Perry and Peter Winkle.
We opened in B.C. originally. We’ve been sort of slowly growing across Canada. We’ve got stores in Alberta, Ontario, B.C. We opened in Winnipeg about 3 years ago. Saskatoon seemed like the next obvious market for us. We are just making sure that Canadians in bigger towns in smaller provinces are having access to our offering. We did have online sales from Saskatoon, so we knew that customers were interested in the brand.We have in-house designers. All of our frames are designed by Bailey Nelson.
