The province is expanding the Saskatchewan Mineral Exploration Tax Credit from 10 per cent to 30 per cent.

This is the time for Saskatchewan to capitalize on the 23 critical minerals that exist here, all on Canada’s critical minerals list, Reiter added.

The province is also enhancing the Targeted Mineral Exploration Incentive from $750,000 to $4 million annually to support hard rock drilling in the province, and has made a $2.4 million commitment to improve geoscience data collection and reporting used in mineral exploration. “Saskatchewan is the right environment to ensure other development of other critical mineral resources like zinc, copper, lithium and rare earth elements. Critical minerals are essential for a growing population, for national security and energy security across the globe. When it comes to modern technology, they’re what make modern life possible.”

Saskatchewan is known around the world for the “food, fuel and fertilizer” it supplies, and the province is well positioned to become a global supplier of the critical minerals and rare earth elements the world needs, Clark said.Article content
