ICYMI: Saskatchewan government cites supply chain issue, extends crop insurance deadline
The province announced on Monday that the crop insurance enrolment deadline has been extended to April 14 after supply chain issues led to a delay in mail delivery to producers.
March 31 was the previous deadline for producers to apply, reinstate or cancel their crop insurance plan. Owens said producers will welcome the extra two weeks for coverage choices. The province said the challenges occurred after the packages left the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation on Feb. 25 but they have since been circulated and distributed to producers’ addresses; they can expect delivery within the next few days.
