Saskatchewan is celebrating arts and culture with Culture Days activities starting on Friday.

“We have a motto in Saskatchewan: ‘from many peoples strength’ and that’s true, because no culture can thrive if it wants to be exclusive right, it has to be inclusive,” said Dean Kush, CEO of SaskCulture and member of the National Culture Days board of directors.

“It talks about relationships of the people of Saskatchewan and talks about healing, reconciliation and the journey toward building relationships and respect, understanding each other, and being a good neighbour.” “Our government recognizes that a strong arts and culture sector contributes to our economy and to our quality of life.”Article content“Either by taking part in hands-on activities, learning new skills, connecting with local artists, cultural organizations, and community members, and engaging in meaningful conversations and actions that contribute to healing and understanding,” he said.

Culture Days hubs include Gull Lake, Assiniboia, Willow Bunch, Swift Current, Hazlet, Climax, Shaunavon, Regina Beach, Oxbow, Weyburn, Silton, Lumsden, Humboldt, Regina, Carrot River, Nipawin, Melfort, Prince Albert, Porcupine Plain, Saskatoon, Battleford, Meadow Lake, Lloydminster, Beauval and Yorkton.
