MIRI: The Sarawak Transport Ministry has denied claims that it is doing a rush job in sending home Sarawakian students from the peninsula.

Deputy Transport Minister Hasbi Habibollah, who is Limbang MP, said there are false claims floating around social media that the ministry was being lax in terms of safety and health checks of these students.

"These students were flown back to Kuching, Miri, Bintulu and Sibu. They had spent two months in quarantine in their peninsula campuses. "Upon landing in Sarawak airports, they had to undergo a 14-day quarantine. They then had to pass health checks before they could go back to their homes. Hasbi said returning students and their families must play their role when it comes to exercising social distancing in their homes."The students, their parents and families must also do the same," he said.
