KUCHING: Sarawak is poised to begin large-scale commercial production of green hydrogen by 2027 towards promoting renewable energy and reducing the carbon footprint, says Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
"The hydrogen will go to Korea and the state will earn revenue from it," he said when opening a forest conservation conference here on Monday .
He said the state was planning to accelerate the use of greener hydrogen energy sources with the goal of becoming the first hydrogen-driven economy in South-East Asia. "It's an ambitious goal, but with determination, proper planning and cooperation from the government, businesses and the public, Sarawak can pave the way for sustainable development in South-East Asia," he said.
