Saratoga voters appear to have approved a strict term limits measure.

Saratoga’s term limits measure is more restrictive than those in Los Gatos and other local cities, which cap councilmembers at two consecutive four-year terms, meaning candidates can run again after taking a four-year break. “At the time we didn’t know it was going to be so well received. I know it’s a little on the strict side, because this is two terms lifetime,” Zhao said. “I know some were concerned we might kind of eliminate some good council members from returning, serving on the council again. But I think the results show people are not so concerned about that.”
