The Saratoga Police Department released a blotter detailing several recent incidents, including forgery, vehicle theft, unlawful display of registration tab, misappropriation of found property, shoplifting, and annoying/harassing electronic communications.

Forgery, grand theft: A Saratoga resident reported that the suspect took their government benefits check approximately four years prior, then altered and cashed the check for a loss of about $1,500. The suspect is known, and the case is being submitted to the district attorney’s office for review.Vehicle theft: Between 6 p.m. on Jan. 29 and 5 p.m. on Jan.

Unlawful display of registration tab: At 5 p.m., deputies stopped a motorist at Lawrence Expressway and Prospect Road for expired registration. An investigation revealed the vehicle’s registration expired in 2022 but was displaying a 2024 tab. The registered owner was aware of the vehicle’s status and was cited and released.Misappropriation of found property: Between 1:10 p.m. and 1:20 p.m.
