Saraland City Schools are back in session on Thursday and this year future teachers will be joining the students in the classroom.
That is why University of Mobile education majors are taking on the challenge. The future teachers will be in the classrooms for Saraland Elementary's first day of school. It is a unique experience that most college students do not get. Education major Allie Kelley says she is a little intimidated but ready for the hands-on learning experience.
University of Mobile students will be under the guidance of experienced educators like fifth grade teacher Katie Alsobrook. She says nothing prepares you for the first day of school, but she hopes this experience helps the student teachers.
