Police are investigating after a man’s body was found lying on a West Side street early Saturday morning.

A CPS Energy worker who was driving by spotted the man on the road in the 4300 block of Eldridge Avenue. He called 911 just before 4 a.m.‘Breach of trust’: Medical Center mail carrier accused of stealing 65-year-old woman’s credit cards Emergency medical services arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. He has not been identified, but police said they believe he was in his 30s.

Police talked to two residents of a corner house near the scene. The two told police they heard gunshots and that when they went to see what happened, they saw the man lying in the street. In a preliminary report, officers said they don’t know whether the man was struck by a vehicle or shot. No further information was available.
