Police said witnesses reported seeing the shooter get out of a SUV and fire a handgun at the driver four times.
A man was shot and killed while sitting in his SUV at an apartment complex Friday night, according to San Antonio police.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at the Banyan Tree Apartments at 8150 Cross Creek just before 11 p.m. When they arrived, they found the 54-year-old man, who had been shot numerous times, in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, according to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department.

Officers searched for the shooter but were unable to find him.
Emergency medical services performed lifesaving measures on the driver, police said, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been officially identified.
