Janelle Shante Harris and Roberto Gonzalez pointed their guns at San Antonio police officers when the officers fired back on Thursday.
A man and a woman who police said each aimed a gun at officers in separate incidents — leaving the man dead when officers fired in response — have been identified. The first incident occurred at 5:45 p.m. Thursday on the Northwest Side . Janelle Shante Harris , 38, was reportedly walking around waving a handgun in the air, San Antonio police said. Officers who arrived at the scene tried to speak with Harris, but she turned to face them and raised a gun in their direction.
At some point, police said they witnessed Gonzalez rob an area convenience store as he was under surveillance. The street crimes unit officers pulled Gonzalez over in a traffic stop, but then he exited the vehicle and ran from them near the 1400 block of Cantrell Drive. The officers chased Gonzalez until he pulled out a gun, a police report states. He turned toward the pursuing officers and aimed his gun at them, police said.
